Junior High Softball gets back in win column

The Carmi-White County Junior High baseball and softball teams hosted Eldorado at Bradshaw Park and Archie Brown field on Thursday.

It was a dominant win for the Lady Bullpups, taking down Eldorado 17-0 in 4 innings. Addie Courson was nearly perfect on the mound in those four innings. The sixth grader threw a no-hitter, walking just one batter, and striking out 12.

On the offensive side for CWC, Emilie Hollingsworth went 2 for 2 at the plate with 2 RBI. Maggie Pearce also had a multi-hit game, driving in one run in the process. Eva Attebury, Briley McAllister, Aerielle Mcwhirter, Zoe Walkenbach and Emslee Damery all had one base hit on the day.

On the baseball diamond, the Bullpups committed 5 errors in the field, and struck out 11 times in route to an 11-1 loss against the Eagles. Cole Kingston, Travis Nausley and Josh Mendenhall were responsible for the only 3 CWC hits.

The Lady Bullpups will be back in action on Saturday when they take part in the Johnston City Invitational Tournament. Both teams will host Albion on Wednesday and Benton on Thursday, and will travel to Olney next Friday.
