Fairfield Memorial Hospital weekly updates are used to keep the public informed as progress continues to be made on our Expansion Project. As the brick begins to go up it’s beginning to create excitement around the facility.
During the week of February 1st, the roofer is here this week to complete the parapet work at the top of the exterior walls, which help create a barrier that is an extension of the wall at the edge of a roof. Fire caulking and framing work is being performed on the northwest nurse’s station soffit on the third floor. The contractors are also framing some soffits on the second floor and working on exterior studs and sheathing on west elevation. The mechanical contractor is installing ductwork, branch lines and fan coil units on the third floor. The plumber is installing plumbing vents on the third floor, in-wall rough-in on second floor and reheating piping on the first floor. The electrical contractor is installing both overhead and in-wall work on all three floors at this time. The mason contractor have been coming in to continue working on installing the bricks around the building as allowed by the temperatures on a day to day basis.
During the week of February 8th, weather permitting, and if it is warm enough, the contractor will be bringing a swing stage scaffolding to use as a work platform while completing the north face of the new building where we tie into the old building. This work will be mostly metal studs, sheathing and weather barrier along with tying in the new roofing system and an additional roof drain.
Fairfield Memorial Hospital appreciates all of the support and interest that has been received from our community for this project.
