Youngsters Preparing for 2023 White County 4H Fair

The 2023 White County 4H Fair kicks off on Saturday, July 8th with the dog, cat, and small pet show at the floral hall.  Registration kicks off at 12:30pm with the show getting underway at 1pm.  Dog Obedience and agility follow beginning at 1:30pm.  Sunday, young’uns will head out to the Carmi Rifle Club for the Shooting Sports competition.  Air rifle, pistol and archery shoots start at 2pm with shotguns set for a 4 o’clock start.

Monday, July 10th, there will be food and clothing shows beginning at 8am from the floral hall.  General projects can be brought to the floral hall between 4pm and 8pm Monday for judging to get underway on Tuesday.  Also Monday, the poultry and rabbit shows are set for 5pm.  In addition to judging for general projects happening Tuesday, youngsters will get a chance to show off their skills at the tractor driving contest before the livestock weigh in beginning at 5pm.

Wednesday is the culmination of this year’s 4H Fair with the livestock show at 8am including sheep, goats, swine, dairy, and beef cattle.  The pedal pull starts at 3:30pm.  Registration for the pedal pull coincides with the kick off of the pork chop sandwich sale which runs from 3pm – 7pm Wednesday.  The awards program is set for 5pm at the floral hall and the livestock auction starts at 7pm.  For additional details, contact the University of Illinois Extension office at 618-382-2662.  You can find the full schedule of events for this year’s 4H Fair below:
