Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies made an arrest Friday following a disturbing situation that took place earlier this month. Deputies say 31-year-old Charity Bailey of Xenia, IL was arrested on a charge of Aggravated Domestic Battery. They say that Bailey attempted to drown one of her children in a home on March 11th. The child was then taken to Cardinal Glennon Hospital for treatment. Following an interview with authorities, Bailey was arrested and booked into the Wayne County Jail on $100,000 bond. Authorities say more charges could be coming. Bailey is scheduled to appear in Wayne County Court on April 20th at 9 AM.
