Finalists have been announced for the 2023 IBA Silver Dome Awards. WRUL has been named a finalist for six different categories including news coverage, sports, and commercial production.
Coverage of a face off between Gallatin County 4-H and board member Warren Rollman received a nomination for Best Hard News Story. WRUL was also nominated for news coverage in the Light Feature category for a “Bubbling Under…Cast and Crew Preparing to Make a Splash in Carmi League of Arts Summer Production of The Little Mermaid” story.
WRUL Sports Director Cole Carter is among the finalists for general sports coverage and also specifically for his and Travis Black’s call of the Bulldogs win over Flora in basketball.
A commercial for Busted Knuckles is a finalist in the Best Radio Humorous Commercial category. A commercial for Invenergy titled “A Brighter Future” is among the nominations for Best Single Commercial.
Nominations for Silver Dome Award categories equate to being among the top three in Small Market Radio throughout the state. Winners will be announced on October 24th at the annual meeting of the IBA in Normal, Illinois.
