The White County Sheriff’s Department received a report early Sunday morning from John W. McKay in reference to a burglary that had taken place at his property at 842 County Road 1450 N in Carmi. McKay told Deputy Spencer he had a storage building that had been entered and a number of items removed. He stated he found the items were missing after going to his property and observing the door to the storage building was open, when it should have been closed. McKay said he observed the door was open at approximately 9:00 am on Thursday and an unknown number of hand tools in a large blue plastic tote had been removed. A black 50 cc motorcycle was also removed from the building.
Deputy Spencer said an incident report would be completed and placed on file at the White County Sheriff’s Department and he would contact McKay if any further information became available.
