White County Sheriff’s office personnel tended to a car fire in rural northern White County Tuesday around noon. The report indicates the vehicle, a 99 Jeep registered to 34 year old Shania Buchanan of Fairfield was found fully engulfed in flames with no one present. Authorities called in the plate to find it still belonging to Buchanan. She advised she had sold the Jeep to an unknown individual about a month prior. Buchanan allegedly told authorities if she obtained the name, she’d follow up. The fire was managed by the Carmi Fire Department. Don’s Bumper to Bumper then towed the burnt vehicle.
