The White County Sheriff’s Department received a theft report Wednesday morning from Kevin Phipps. Phipps advised sometime in the last couple of days someone entered upon his property to commit a theft. Phipps advised he has a 2005 Dodge Caravan on his property and someone cut the catalytic convertor off the vehicle and took a trail cam from the property along with miscellaneous tools including wrenches, snatchblocks, and screwdrivers.
A complaint for Aggravated Battery was signed by Linda Aud Thursday morning against 41 year old Miranda K. Travelstead of Carmi. The White County Sheriff’s Office and Carmi Police arrived at 905 North 9th Street where they spoke with Animal Control Linda Aud who was at the location due to an animal at large. Aud advised she was called to the residence due to Travelstead’s dogs, a pit bull and two Dobermans, off leash. Aud said this was not the first time this has occurred as she has dealt with them frequently.
After a complaint was signed for the dogs being at large in the city of Carmi, Aud went to the Travelstead residence where she issued Travelstead a citation. Travelstead threw a fit and cursed at Aud before going back inside the residence, only to return a short time later attempting to push Aud out of her yard. Aud advised that she tried to push Travelstead’s arms away from her when Travelstead hit her on her left breast.
