White County Sheriff’s Authorities Respond to Maunie and Enfield

Neighbors in Maunie got into it late Tuesday night over an electrical box according to the White County Sheriff’s Department.  A deputy was dispatched to the area just before midnight when 30 year old Charley Buchanan called authorities saying there was a small group of individuals outside her home yelling and attempting to break in.  The deputy found one of the women, 40 year old Tabitha Steele on Washington Street near the railroad tracks.  Steele told the deputy Buchanan had taken an electrical box that attaches to the outside of a residence from a property Steele owns a few days ago.  She went on to say she had spoken to Buchanan recently and Buchanan said she’d return it.  Steele alleges Buchanan believed the box belonged to her because it came from a residence where the electric was in Buchanan’s mother’s name.  The deputy says in his report he tried several times to contact Buchanan at her home unsuccessfully.  Steele signed a complaint and gave a written statement alleging theft.

An Enfield woman signed a complaint for Criminal Damage to Property Wednesday morning.  Law enforcement was called to a Jennette Street apartment around 11:30.  34 year old Destiny Sauls tells the Sheriff’s Department that someone tampered and flattened a tire on her 2002 Dodge Ram sometime between 8pm Tuesday and 9:30am Wednesday.  Sauls signed a complaint and says she’s reviewing video footage from the apartment owner’s security system in order to see if the incident was caught on camera.
