White County Sheriff’s Authorities are releasing details of recent arrests. Included is an incident at the White County Fair’s demolition derby Saturday, August 10th. It was around a quarter after 7pm, while youngsters had just finished in the power wheels derby when Jeff Nelson of Crossville was witnessed getting within inches of another individual yelling at the person.
Officers say they initially though the interaction was playful, but when they intervened, Nelson allegedly began yelling at Sheriff Weiss. When the sheriff asked Nelson if he’d been drinking, Nelson got agitated and began causing a scene according to the report. Weiss then received word that the President of the White County Fair Board had signed a complaint against Nelson, cuffed and taken off the grounds.
Nelson continued to act belligerent, Weiss says, refusing to provide ID and while stating, “You’re not getting **** from me.” and “All you mother******* better have your bodycams on.”
He would eventually be booked into the White County Jail and faces charges of Criminal Trespass for State Supported Land and Obstructing Identification. Nelson would be released with a Notice to Appear after 11:30pm Saturday night. Online court records don’t yet indicate when Nelson is due in White County court.
