The White County Board held their January meeting at 7pm on Tuesday night at the White County Courthouse.
The Board approved preliminary engineering agreements for two bridges in the county, a bridge over a drainage ditch in Emma Township, about half a mile from the Maunie Road and a bridge in Indian Creek Township, three miles north of Norris City.
The Board also approved the sale of real estate from the county’s trustee program which includes ten areas of land in Carmi Township and one each in Mill Shoals, Emma, and Gray Townships.
The county is now caught up in motor fuel tax funds through December, although it is well below the amount received in the past.
The County Jail is purchasing a new phone system, half of which will be paid for by the City of Carmi. The Jail will also be installing new double locks for the doors.
The 9-1-1 Board will hold their next meeting on Monday, January 18th at 7pm at the White County Courthouse.
A brief executive session was held to discuss potential litigation, but no action was taken.
The next meeting of the White County Board will be on Tuesday, February 9th at 7pm.
