With 19 of 27 Precincts reporting in Wayne County, we see so far that the race for coroner shows Carrie Jo Dagg, a Republican leading Democratic rival Jimmy Taylor by a nearly 57% to 41% margin or 1,973 to 1,412 votes. Like White County, Wayne is asking it’s population if they’d like to separate from Cook County and create a new state. Voters there so far are overwhelmingly in favor of the proposition by a 2,591 to 648 vote margin. With both precincts reporting in Wayne City, voters are nearly split down the middle on whether to prohibit the sale of alcohol or not. Currently, the vote total is 188 to prohibit to 185 to not prohibit. Barnhill is also considering the same ballot issue and voters there by a 175 to 97 margin say they don’t want to prohibit alcohol. Similarly, Leech Township has taken up the same ballot issue with the same result as Barnhill but by a slimmer margin…82 no votes to 73 yes votes. Lastly, 2 precincts in Wayne County were asked about Bedford Fire Annexation with 82 voters choosing yes while only 27 voters said no.
