The Carmi-White County Lady Bulldogs picked up their 2nd conference win of the season after taking down Edwards County on Tuesday by a final score of 5-2.
Audrey Upton started the ballgame off with a 2-run home run in the top of the 1st inning. Carmi grabbed a 2-0 lead and never looked back.
The Lions answered with 1 in the bottom of the 1st, and the game would stay 2-1 until the top of the 5th inning when Upton came through again with an RBI double, scoring Addi Elliott to make it 3-1 Lady Dogs.
Carmi picked up two more runs in the 6th on an RBI triple by Mia Evans and an RBI single by Eva Attebury.
EC plated 1 in the 7th but it was not enough, the Lady Bulldogs held on for their 11th win of the season.
Not only was Upton clutch at the plate, she was electric on the mound per usual. Upton pitched all 7 innings, allowing just 2 runs on 2 hits with 11 strikeouts.
Upton then went 2-for-4 at the plate with a home run (2) and 3 RBI.
Addi Elliott went 1-for-4 with 2 runs scored.
Kadie Simmons went 1-for-3 with a run scored.
Mia Evans went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
