A two vehicle accident on Veterans Day sent three individuals to hospitals with varying degrees of injuries. White County Sheriff’s personnel were dispatched to Highway 1 near Nelson Pipe & Supply Saturday following a two vehicle crash. After being attended to by White County EMS, witness statements were gathered. According to the report, a Ford F-150 driven by Paul Bevers of Indiana crossed the centerline of the roadway and struck a 2020 Ford Edge occupied by driver Sherry King and Bill King of Carmi. Witness statements indicated after the collision, the truck rolled onto the passenger side while the SUV spun in the roadway and came to rest in a ditch.
Bevers sustained major injuries and was subsequently flown to Deaconess Hospital for treatment. Both Sherry and Bill King suffered minor to moderate injuries and were transported by ambulance to Ferrell Hospital.
