Two Sentenced To The IDOC

Two area men were sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections on Monday.

33-year old Austin Hulett, of Albion, was sentenced to 6 years and 9 months in the IDOC for Unlawful Use of Property, which is a class 2 felony.                   He was also given 1 year of Mandatory Supervised Release.

Hulett was arrested by the White County Sheriff’s Department on October 19th of this year. He was using his vehicle to assist in Possession of Methamphetamine.

Hulett was represented by Public Defender Brian Shinkle.

Judge Michael Valentine was the Presiding Judge.

 

20-year old Darryl Buckman of Carmi,  was sentenced to 8 years in the IDOC for Aggravated Unlawful Possession of Stolen Firearms which is a class 1 felony. He was also given 1 year of Mandatory Supervised Release as well as 4 years probation for Unlawful Use of Cannabis, which is a class 1 felony.

The probation was ordered to run consecutively to when he is released from the IDOC. Buckman was also recommended to participate in the Impact Incarceration Program also known as Boot Camp of IDOC. Buckman was ordered to pay a fine of $1,000, a street value fine of $2,000 and a contribution to the local anti-crime program of $500. He was also ordered to perform 150 hours of public service work. Buckman was arrested following the execution of a search warrant at his residence on November 12th, by the Carmi Police Department with assistance from the White County Sheriff’s Department.

Buckman was represented by Public Defender Brian Shinkle.

Judge Michael Valentine was the Presiding Judge.
