32 year old Brittni L. Smith, of Evansville, was sentenced Monday in White County Court to 6 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections plus 2 years Mandatory Supervised Release on a class 2 felony, Unlawful Possession of a Stolen Vehicle. Smith was ordered to pay costs. She was represented by Public Defender Rhonda Blades. Judge T. Scott Webb was the presiding judge. Grayville Police Department and White County Sheriff’s Department were the investigating agencies.
After a contested sentencing hearing Monday afternoon, Phillip S. Burton, 33, of Carmi, was sentenced in White County Court to 6 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections plus 1 year Mandatory Supervised Release on a class 3 felony, Escape and 6 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by 1 year Mandatory Supervised Release on a class 3 felony, Possession of Methamphetamine. Burton’s sentences were ordered to run concurrently. Burton was represented by Public Defender Brian Shinkle. Judge T. Scott Webb was the sentencing judge that imposed the sentence. White County Sheriff’s Department and Carmi Police Department were the investigating agencies, respectively.
