White County States Attorney announced Tuesday morning convictions in White County Court that will send two men to Illinois Department of Corrections custody.
On Monday, 30 year old Roger A Conover of Albion was sentenced to three years in prison and one year of supervised release on a charge of escape, which is a class 3 felony. Conover was ordered to report to the White County Jail on October 29th to begin serving a sentence from an earlier conviction. Conover failed to report at that time, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. His sentence will run concurrent to his original sentence.
This morning, 25 year old Joseph Abell of Norris City was sentenced to five years in prison on one charge of possession of a stolen vehicle and one charge of possession of methamphetamine. Abell was arrested on October 8th after a manhunt that involved several local agencies. Abell received five year terms on each charge that will run concurrently. In addition, Abell was sentenced to 2 years of supervised release on the vehicle charge and was ordered to pay court costs. Abell was defended by attorney Jonathan Turpin.
