White County State’s Attorney Denton Aud announced on Wednesday that two convictions were handed down in White County court this past week.
Last Wednesday, January 6th, 36 year old Danny L. Stevens of Carmi had his probation revoked from his 2013 conviction on a charge of aggravated battery. The revocation stemmed from his arrest earlier this month for possession of methamphetamine by the White County Sheriff’s Department. Stevens was ordered to serve his original five year sentence in Illinois Department of Corrections custody and was given a four and a half year sentence on the drug charge. The two sentences will run concurrently. Following incarceration, Stevens will serve one year of mandatory supervised release and was ordered to pay court costs.
On Monday, January 11th, 33 year old Danny M. Gibbs of Carmi was convicted on a charge of driving while license revoked. Gibbs was sentenced to one year of incarceration and one year of mandatory supervised release. Gibbs was also ordered to pay court costs.
