Hamilton County State’s Attorney Justin Hood announced that two convictions were handed down in Hamilton County Court on Thursday.
29 year old Jeffrey S Crowe of Bixby, Oklahoma was sentenced to five years in Illinois Department of Corrections custody on a charge of forgery. Crowe was accused of attempting to cash a check from Farris Family Restaurant made out to cash on July 18th. The bank employee was suspicious, and contacted the McLeansboro City Police, who made the arrest.
In addition, Crowe will serve one year of mandatory supervised release and was recommended for the Impact Incarceration Program.
19 year old Kaiden M Akin of Macedonia will serve two five year sentences concurrently after a guilty plea to one count of attempted burglary and one count of residential burglary. Akin was caught on video surveillance attempting to enter the drive through window at Hunt’s Hardware in Dale on June 29th, and admitted to a Hamilton County Deputy that he burglarized a home n Dahlgren on June 25th.
Akin also will be under mandatory supervised release for one year following incarceration, and was also recommended for the Impact Incarceration Program.
Both Crowe and Akin are being held at the White County Jail awaiting transfer to DOC custody.
