Meth Busts
Two Carmi men were arrested early Friday morning on separate drug raids conducted by the Carmi Police Department with assistance from the White County Sheriff’s Department.
According to the incident reports released by Carmi Chief of Police Jason Carter, 67 year old David W. Strean of 805 Smith Street, Carmi, was arrested for unlawful use of property, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance (psilocybin mushrooms) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the report, Carmi police developed information leading to the execution of a search warrant.
Strean was detained by authorities and remained in custody early Monday.
Local police also executed a search warrant at 709 Maple Street, here in Carmi after an investigation led to information concerning drugs at the residence.
Shortly after 7, Friday morning, Jerry Wayne Lamont, 51, of 709 Maple was arrested on several drug related charges including possession of methamphetamine, possession of meth with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful use of property. Obstructing justice and resisting/obstructing a peace officer.
Lamont remained in custody early Monday at the White County Jail.
