An Edwards County man, 38 year old David Woodward had a court date this morning following his arrest late
Saturday/early Sunday by Edwards County authorities. Woodward has been charged with 2 Class A misdemeanors, he’s accused of Domestic Battery and Aggravated Assault. A video court appearance was scheduled with Resident Circuit Judge Michael Valentine Tuesday morning at 9am.
In White County, 51 year old Timothy L. Roberts of a 6th Street apartment was arrested at a nearby residence just after 6pm Monday night. Carmi Police were called to the scene after a 911 report of a male attempting to stab others with a knife. When officers arrived on scene, they say the knife had been taken away from Roberts by one of the male victims, but that another female victim was inside the apartment with Roberts and they feared he may have obtained another weapon. No serious injuries were reported and Roberts was detained. He’s being charged with Aggravated Assault and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. In addition, Roberts picked up a charge for a failure to appear warrant related to a Class 3 felony charge of Aggravated Battery in a public place from an incident back in the Spring of 2020. He’s currently behind bars in the White County Jail awaiting a court date.
