Wabash Valley College’s TRIO Student Support Services students attending the recent TRIO workshop included: Front Row: Selena Hawkins; Second Row, left to right: Eliza Hulfachor, Celeste Hahn; Back Row, left to right: Chelsea Gunzel, Andrea Jordan, Alecis Allen, Keisha Funkhouser, Taylor Klein, Paige Keneipp, Chelsea Roosevelt, Shelby Skees, and Sydney Peterson.
TRIO Student Support Services offered one of its four workshops this month, and the focus was for the students to file their FAFSA (Free Application for Student Financial Aid) early in order for them to be prepared for the following academic year.
Workshops were held at the individual colleges, and each had a different community service activity. Each workshop offered by TRIO SSS has a volunteer activity associated with it. Frontier Community College’s students brought in towels and blankets to donate to the Wayne County Humane Society. Lincoln Trail College’s students volunteered at Washington Elementary School. Olney Central College’s students volunteered at The Master’s Hands. Wabash Valley College’s TRIO Student Support Services hosted a Blood Drive.
Each college (apart from TRIO SSS) has its own FAFSA night held at the college to aid parents and students in filing their FAFSA for the next year. Filing financial aid early is very important; therefore, for those students who are not in the TRIO programs, TRIO would like to offer the following information with dates for the IECC FAFSA Nights:
