A Carmi man was arrested and is being charged with multiple offenses after a traffic stop. On Tuesday, November 16, at around 9:30 PM, an Officer with the Carmi Police Department pulled over 59 year old Mark L Welty of 200 Steven Street in Carmi, near Main Street and April Avenue. Welty was taken into custody and charged with Driving Under The Influence of Alcohol and Possession of Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle.
Welty was booked in the White County Jail. Bond was set at $100. Welty posted bond and was released.
