Traffic Stop Nets Warrant Arrest

A Carmi man was arrested following a routine traffic stop Thursday evening just before 7 at Oak and Burrell Streets, here in Carmi.

Willy R. Wiseman, 39, of 206 Olive Street, Carmi was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Carolyn Wiseman, 51 of 120 Randolph Street, McLeansboro, which was stopped by Carmi Police Officer Mathew Long.

Willy Wiseman was arrested on a Williamson County warrant for possession of methamphetamine. There was no bond on the warrant.

Carolyn Wiseman was cited for operation of a motor vehicle with suspended registration, due to no mandatory insurance.

According to the police report released by Carmi Chief of Police Jason Carter, the vehicle was towed from the scene.
