Traffic Stop Nets Burglary Suspect
According to Carmi Chief of Police Jason Carter, a Carmi man was arrested Thursday evening on theft and burglary charges.
According to the incident report, 36 year old Adam Bratcher of 900 County Road 725 East, Carmi was arrested following a traffic stop shortly after 8 Thursday night. Reports indicated Bratcher had allegedly been stealing items from Slay’s Carpet.
During the traffic stop and subsequent search, items that had been reported as stolen from Slay’s were discovered in the vehicle that Bratcher was driving.
Bratcher was arrested and held on charges of burglary, theft over $500 and unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle.
