Twelve of White County’s furry finest will don the 2024 Pets at Risk calendar which will go on sale later this year. All told, the fifty animals available for votes helped the organization rake in just under $4,000. The top vote getter was Ruby with more than $1,000 alone. She is of course one of Pets at Risk’s most enduring and proud success stories. After being taken to the White County Pound, Ruby would escape and be on the lam for 110 days in total before finally being caught. She now is living the life of Riley with her new pet parents Scott and Beth Conner. The other top 11 vote getters include:
Mojo, owned by Brian Bryant
Claudia Jean, owned by Mackenzie Willis
Bruno, owned by Anna Girten

Ibby, owned by Lana Anselment
Ozzie, owned by Carson Cushman

This was the second Pets at Risk Pet Calendar contest. In early September, WRUL.com welcomed entries from the first fifty individuals to upload a picture of their pet. Through Corn Day, folks were encouraged to place spare change, dollars, even checks in the jars of animals they most wanted to see make the calendar. Voting closed at 3pm on Corn Day, Saturday, October 13th. All fifty of the animals will be featured on the calendar cover. The top twelve vote getters will be featured on one of the months.
