Spence, Gray, Skaggs, and Austin Take First Place at Wabash Christian Village Golf Scramble

On August 27th, Wabash Christian Village (WBCV) hosted their 7th annual Golf Scramble at Carmi Country Club with 19 teams participating. 90֯ temperatures did not keep the golfers from getting out to enjoy the beautiful course. Norris City Methodist Church took first place with David Spence, Dave Gray, Joe Skaggs, and Terry Austin rounding out the team. Our generous First Place Sponsors were: Ferrell Hospital, First Bank, Wabash General Hospital, and Carmi First Christian Church. Second place, sponsored by Slay’s Carpet and Kathy Fridley, was taken by Steve Garrett, Don Garrett, C.H. Allyn, and Brad Spence from the Carmi First Christian Church team. Rob Mason, Colton Slover, Curt Sexton and Colby Steele captured third place despite the unrelenting heat of the afternoon. Third place was sponsored by Janice Gates, Yesterday’s Drive In, Rush Appliance, Plum Street Pharmacy and Martin & Bayley – Huck’s Market. Jane Brezzette won Closest to Pin, sponsored by Greenwalt & Sons Construction – Wayne City and Town and Country Real Estate. Longest Drive winners were Joe Skaggs for Seniors, Chad Buss for Men and Tamara Gould winning the Ladies category. Longest Putt went to Sandra Bryant playing on the Ronocco Beverage Solutions team. Hole-in-One Sponsors included Select Rehab, Hamilton Memorial Hospital, Hale Body Shop and Trident Care. We are grateful for the success of this event with proceeds going to help offset additional and unexpected expenses related to Covid in 2020.
