Simmons Resigns as Bulldog Baseball Coach

After 8 seasons, Justin Simmons has stepped down as head coach of the Carmi-White County baseball team.

Simmons took over as head coach after the resignation of Craig Winter before the 2017 season. In his first season at the helm, the Bulldogs won an IHSA 2A Regional Title.

In 8 seasons, the Bulldogs won 94 games under Simmons, that is good enough for 4th all-time among CWCHS baseball coaches.

Prior to becoming the varsity head coach, Simmons had success at the junior high level as well, leading the Bullpups to a 3rd Place finish in the SIJHSAA Class L State Finals in 2013.

Simmons will continue to work in the CWC school district as a teacher and high school girls assistant basketball coach. He looks forward to watching his daughter, Caroline, excel in her final two seasons as a Lady Bulldog.

Congratulations to Justin Simmons on a great coaching career, and thank you for all your time dedicated to CWC Baseball!
