Carmi Police are looking for at least one individual involved in a suspected drive by shooting attempt last Friday night. Officers say they responded to a shots fired call just before 11pm at the Rice Street apartments. Law enforcement say they found 5 bullet holes and 3 of the actual bullets fired from 412 Rice Street, a duplex apartment building. The residents, 19 year old Chase Edmonds and 38 year old Michael Shutt weren’t injured. Police say at least one of the bullets penetrated the apartment. An individual at the scene identified a potential vehicle in the area and described it as an older blue vehicle, possibly a Ford. Chief Jason Carter is asking anyone with information about the incident or anyone who might have camera footage from the area to contact the Carmi Police Department at 618-382-4633 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-637-3577.
