An administrative Order handed down Tuesday morning has closed down the Second Judicial Circuit Court in Illinois. Chief Judge Tom Tedeschi released the order which postpones all court dates including civil matters, including jury trials, traffic violations, ordinance violations, misdemeanor cases, probate, family cases, law magistrate, juvenile cases, marriages, criminal and traffic reviews, and tax cases. Each party litigant will receive a notice in the mail upon rescheduling. Emergency matters may still be scheduled, but will be handled on a case by case basis.
Some court proceedings will continue as scheduled including all matters with individuals in custody, including bond reviews, criminal felony matters, juvenile temporary custody hearings, juvenile detention hearings, petitions for Emergency Orders of Protection/No Stalking Orders, Emergency Hearings in family matters scheduled with approval of the court.
