Rush Sentenced To Nine Years In The Illinois Department Of Corrections

A Carmi man learned he will be spending the next 9 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections during sentencing in White County Court Wednesday. The sentence was handed down to 33 year old Ricky Rush by White County Judge T Scott Webb. Rush was sentenced for Aggravated Assault, Concealing a Fugitive and Violation of Order of Protection, all of which are class 4 felonies as well as Possession of Methamphetamine, a class 3 felony.  Rush was originally arrested in April 2022 by the White County Sheriff’s Department for the Aggravated Assault, Concealing a Fugitive and Violation of an Order of Protection offenses. After pleading guilty and while awaiting sentencing on those cases, he was arrested for Possession of Meth.

Rush was represented by Public Defender Myra Yelle Clark while State’s Attorney Denton Aud prosecuted the case.
