A Carmi woman is behind bars after Carmi Police were called to her residence on Fackney Street Friday evening in reference to a disturbance. 23 year old Autumn Read was arrested just after 9:30pm on a Criminal Misdemeanor charge of Domestic Battery, the alleged victim, a 24 year old man. As of Monday morning, Read remains behind bars in the White County Jail.
Mary Jordan of First Street in Carmi says someone stole No Trespassing signs from her property. Carmi Police fielded the call Sunday evening around 9:30pm. A Theft Under $500 complaint was signed and filed with the agency.
