Raising Awareness During Child Abuse Prevention Month – Lions Breakfast Apr. 20 to Support Guardian Center

The Lions Club of Carmi is preparing for another pancake breakfast on April 20. This Club has historically held monthly breakfasts to support not only their own fundraising efforts, but those of other community organizations, as well.

The proceeds from this month’s event will support the Guardian Center. This organization is “A Community Response to Child Abuse,” focusing on the protection and healing of abused children and their families through free advocacy services, forensic interviews, and community education. You can learn more about the Guardian Center and their services on their website.

The Center also wants to emphasize the importance of April as Child Abuse Prevention Month. You can get involved in the following ways:

  • Share Guardian Center posts on Facebook
  • Wear blue
  • Put out a yard sign (contact the Center to get one)
  • Host a community event
  • Donate

The Club is grateful for this outstanding support and hopes that folks will continue to participate in these efforts to give back to important causes in our community.

This meal is FREE for kids 5 and under, with a cost of $5 for all other attendees. There will be all-you-care-to-eat pancakes, sausages, biscuits and gravy. Tickets may be purchased from Lions Club members or at the door of the event.

The public is invited to join the Club on Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 7am-10am. Our Lions Den address is 305 1st St.
