If you blinked you missed the nine minute regular session of the school board. The consent agenda was approved. It consisted of approving the minutes of the March 18th regular board meeting, to continue with First Bank as a permanent depository for school funds, adopt a new board policy prohibiting discrimination and harassment on the basis of race color and national origin, preliminarily adopt ten amended board policies with final action at next month’s board meeting, approve eight board policies with no changes, and accepting $300 in donations to Brownsville School.
In the Superintendent’s Report, Jarrod Newell revealed the dates of times of end-of-year events. This list is available on the school district website, with more events to be revealed later.
There was no old business. The only new business item was to establish regular meeting dates and places. The board approved to keep holding the meetings on the third Monday of each month at 7 PM, with the exception of: June and September meetings, which will be held on the fourth Monday to allow for the budget window requirement to be met; the third Tuesday in January for Martin Luther King Day; and the third Tuesday in February for President’s Day. All meetings will continue to be held at the Jefferson Attendance Center annex building.
The board went into Closed Session to discuss personnel at 7:09 PM.
The CWC School Board approved one retirement, one resignation, a reassignment, and a new hire during their closed session Monday night.
Rachel Blazier will retire as the Unit Secretary for CWC Unit #5 at the end of this school year. Demi Beuligmann will resign as the Elementary Music teacher effective at the end of this school year. Rhanda Ambrahamson will be reassigned from an Individual Aide at Washington Attendance Center to a Classroom Aide still at Washington Attendance Center for the 2024-2025 school year. Heaven Ritcheson was hired as the Assistant Cook at Jefferson Attendance Center.
