Preparations Continue/Registrations Open for Several Corn Day Events

Preparations continue for Corn Day 2023.  Officials say there are 7 teams signed up so far for the Chili Cook Off.  The event will be held on Saturday, October 14th from 11am – noon and more teams are welcome.  The Chili Cook Off is hosted at Veteran’s Memorial Park.  Teams or individuals are asked to bring 5 gallons of their best chili, a table to decorate, and servers dressed in festive costumes.  $500 worth of prize money is up for grabs.  Contact Kati Sturgal for more information or to get registered at 382-8930.

Adam Winkleman says at least 7 and potentially more regional bands will take part in this year’s Corn Day parade.  The Corn Day parade will be held at 4pm on Saturday.

Kiwanis President and Pageant Director Emily Williams says there are already 13 babies and 21 youngsters signed up for the pageant on Friday, October 13th.  The event will be held on the Main Stage in downtown Carmi beginning at 5:30pm.  An in-person registration event is being held Thursday night (Sept 21st).  You can still register online at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfvRYDaSUg80XT1GkA0Wf2UDQxB_lraufIUkvIgdloZ0kZKag/viewform.
