A 25 year old man continues to remain in the Wayne County jail after appearing via Zoom, for a brief pre-trial conference in Wayne County Court Tuesday. 25 year old Brody I Murbarger is being held on multiple charges and awaits a jury trial. Defense Attorney Christian J Baril indicated discovery has been complete and timely, and a jury trial was scheduled for January 18th, 2022 at 9 am in the Wayne County Courthouse. Attorneys will hold another pre-trial on October 26th at 2 pm, with monthly hearings anticipated up until the trial; the final conference will be held at 9:30 am on January 11th. Zoom appearances will continue to be acceptable for pre-trial conferences.
Murbarger remains housed in the Wayne County jail on a $300,000 bond. He faces three counts of first-degree murder, one count of concealment of a homicidal death, and two counts of home invasion in connection to the death of Megan Nichols.
