Police Arrest Two Over The Weekend
Carmi Chief of Police, Jason Carter released incident reports from the weekend, including criminal damage to government property, intimidation and theft.
Sunday afternoon shortly after 12:30, Carmi Police arrested 30 year old Cory R Johnson, of Lancaster, Calif., on two charges; Burglary and criminal damage to government property, after he attempted to break in to the city animal shelter.
As of early Monday morning, Johnson remained in custody.
Saturday, shortly after noon, 36 year old Jeffrey D Parker of McLeansboro was arrested on a disorderly conduct and aggravated intimidation following an incident at the Carmi Motel. Parker was arrested on the intimidation charge for threats toward law enforcement during the investigation of the disorderly charge. Parker remained in custody early Monday morning.
Local police continue to investigate a report of theft and criminal damage to property.
Deanna R Applewhite, 903 Third Street, Carmi , reported the theft of two security cameras from her property. Applewhite filed the report at 9:15 Sunday morning
