A Carmi woman is waking up behind bars in the White County Jail after Carmi Police arrested her on Domestic Battery charges late Wednesday night. 35-year-old Nicole Pinkney of 808 West Sycamore was arrested just before midnight at her home after authorities were called. The alleged victim was an 18-year-old white male. In August of last year, Pinkney was charged with two counts of being a guardian knowing and willingly permitting a child in her care to persist in truancy. She had a first appearance on those charges back in April of this year, was formally arraigned June 11th, and has a pre-trial scheduled for September.
Carmi Police also fielded a call from resident Justin Terrell Wednesday afternoon. Terrell told authorities he wanted to sign a complaint for Criminal Damage to Property after finding his wife’s vehicle tires damaged by nails or tacks that were discovered in his yard and driveway. A police sergeant fielded the call and filed the report around a quarter after 4pm Wednesday.
