Photos Show Greater Detail of Courthouse Structural Issues

Now that the White County Board has plighted over half a million dollars from the Energy Transition Grant, the board will have roughly $680,000 to work with.  Photos from the White County Courthouse inspection shed a light on a multitude of structural deficiencies within the building.  Find a total of 18 photos with descriptions below.  The estimated work for structural repairs came to between $350,000 and $400,000 according to work performed by both ADG (Architectural and Design Group) and Josh Alstat of Bacon, Farmer, Workman Engineering & Testing.  In addition to the repair estimates, Jason Wright, President of ADG says the board could expect engineer and architectural fees for bidding to run between $35k-$40k.  He also factored in an additional $35k-$40k for contingencies and unforeseen conditions bringing the total range of estimates to between $420,000 and $480,000.

The White County Courthouse was originally constructed in 1883.  The White County Board has created a building committee to help guide the board through next steps.  The board itself next meets on Tuesday, May 16th at 7pm in Courtroom A of the White County Courthouse.
