Carmi Police also picked up 24 year old James Parker Wednesday afternoon just after 12:30 at the corner of Shipley and Ninth. The officer observed Parker knowing he was wanted on a warrant for a parole violation. He remains behind bars at the White County Jail awaiting transfer by the Department of Corrections to another facility. Court records indicate he has a first appearance scheduled in White County for May 25th for an Assault charge that appears to date back to February of 2019.
