O’Shea had previously placed on probation on June 3, 2020 for Possession of a Controlled Substance. After being apprehended on a failure to appear warrant, O’Shea admitted to violating his probation and pled guilty to the charges with a sentencing hearing set for June 14, 2021. On June 21st, 2021, the sentencing hearing was continued again to September 13, 2021. O’Shea failed to appear at that sentencing hearing and was sentenced in his absence to 10 years, five for each case, one year short of the maximum sentence allowed in each case. Judge T Scott Webb ordered that the sentences be run consecutive to one another. Judge Webb also issued a warrant for his arrest which he was ultimately apprehended on October 19, 2021.
O’ Shea was represented by Public Defender Brian Shinkle. The Carmi Police Department was the arresting agency on both of O’Sheas cases.
While O’Shea was on bond awaiting sentencing, two new cases were filed. One for Retail Theft (Class A Misdemeanor) and a charge of Resisting a Police Officer (Class A Misdemeanor)
