The Illinois primary is still more than 4 months away, but the deadline to file is coming up in December. As of today, there’s only one race that will be contested locally in that spring primary where challenger John Stockton has indicated he’ll run against incumbent Ken Usery for a spot on the County Board. That’s for District 3. Elsewhere, to this point, Circuit Clerk Kelly Fulkerson has no challenger or primary competition and she’s the only Democrat listed with an intention to file for candidacy. States Attorney Denton Aud is unopposed as is Coroner Chris Marsh, and there’s no opposition for County Board District 4 representative Cassie Pigg. That spring primary in Illinois will be held on March 19th.
