Norris City Chamber Preparing for Christmas in the Village

It’s been a full year since the Norris City Chamber of Commerce officially relaunched.  As part of that relaunch, the organization didn’t charge dues to help encourage businesses to get involved and experience the benefit of chamber membership.  Membership letters went out recently and dues for the upcoming year are being kept reasonable at just $50.  Dues and membership papers were due back November 1st, but Williams says if you miss the deadline, they’ll still welcome you.

“Don’t stress.  You can always just email us or send us a message on facebook.”

That email is [email protected] and you can find the page on facebook with a simple search for Norris City Chamber of Commerce.

Still upcoming this year is the Chamber dinner on November 14th and Christmas in the Village this December 7th.

“Rhonda Forston kinda spearheads that.  Even before the Chamber started, she took the lead on that and she picked the day to be the first Thursday in December.  Now the Chamber just helps her out with it.  We’re keeping with that tradition, but this year we have a new spin.  This year, we’re doing a lighted Christmas parade.  It will start at 6pm and then as soon as that’s over, everyone can gather there where Bond’s Grill is and we’ll officially light the tree.”

Santa will arrive same day and will be available for pictures with kids.  A chocolate tasting event will also be part of the festivities and gets underway at 7.  If you’re interested in entering the lighted parade, contact Ashley Garlick at 618-384-7729.  If you’re interested in entering a dish in the chocolate tasting event, email the chamber or send them a message on the chamber facebook page.
