New Hires, Retirements, and Resignations during CWC Board Closed Session

The Carmi-White County Unit Five School Board met in closed session last (Tuesday) night to discuss personnel.

The retirement of Kim Cruse, District School Bus Driver and JH/HS Noon Student Supervisor was accepted for the end of the 2023-2024 school year.

Resignations were approved. Emily Driscoll, a High School Math Teacher effective at the end of the 2023-2024 school year; and Taylor Bishop, a Special Education Classroom Aide at Lincoln Attendance Center on December 19, 2023.

Reassignments were made within the school system: Jessica Williams will now fill the vacancy of Chris Courty for the 2024-2025 school year as the High School Social Studies/Health Teacher; and Tammy Parks as the Unit Office Secretary for the 2023-2024 school year to fill the upcoming retirement of Rachel Blazier.

New hires and coaches were accepted for the remainder of the school year and for the upcoming 2024-2025 year. Travis Black, High School Assistant Baseball Coach; Robin Winters, High School Head Girls’ Tennis Coach; Michelle Keepes, High School Math Teacher for 2024-2025 to fill the vacancy for the retirement of Cindy Francis; Julia Smith, High School Math Teacher for 2024-2025 to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Emily Driscoll; and Dakota Acord, Junior/Senior High School Building Custodian to fill the resignation of Logan Weller.

Volunteers rounded out the end of approvals during the closed session. Josh Cox, 5th Grade Girls’ Assistant Basketball Coach; Alaina Lamp, High School FFA Volunteer Assistant; and Jeremy Jordan, High School CEO Volunteer Sponsor.
