Wayne County Sheriff Department and Fairfield Police Department responded to 1500 West Main Street (KINCAIDS) Fairfield, Illinois in reference to a burglar alarm going off early Friday Morning. When deputies arrived they located a female subject inside the business. The female subject identified as 27-year-old Sarah L. Mecum was taken into custody. A search of the building located no more suspects.
Upon further investigation it was discovered several local businesses along Main Street had been damaged with two being entered by Mecum. She was then transported to Wayne County Jail for Two Counts of Burglary, Two Counts of Criminal Trespass, Two Counts of Theft, and Four Counts of Criminal Damage to Property
