Man Eludes Law Enforcement Following 4 Wheeler Stop; White County Sheriff’s Dept Take Enfield Theft Report

White County Sheriff’s Authorities hear from Richard Mobley of Enfield Monday evening.  Mobley called to report the theft of his 2013 110 Yamaha motorbike.  He says someone took it from his back yard in the last week and a half.  Mobley describes it as black and blue and advised officers he hadn’t started the bike for more than a year so he suspects the thieves would’ve had to physically push the bike to their vehicle.  The bike’s VIN number was taken and entered into the Law Enforcement Agency Data System as stolen.

A Crossville man with Indiana ties is wanted by authorities after escaping law enforcement on Saturday.  24 year old Logan Ray with an address listed as Elliot Street in Crossville eluded the officer who stopped him Saturday by ditching his 4 wheeler.  The officer was in Crossville patrolling due to complaints of four wheelers and dirt bikes being ridden up and down village streets.  Ray was pulled over in front of a residence at 303 Second Street.  It was ascertained he was wanted on two warrants out of Posey County, Indiana.  Dispatch also advised Ray’s driving privileges were suspended out of Indiana.  After the officer told Ray he would be placed under arrest, the man started the 4 wheeler according to the report.  The officer says he had one hand on Ray and advised him not to run at which point the suspect turned off the 4 wheeler.  While preparing to place Ray in handcuffs, the officer says the man jerked his hand away and ran off northbound through the yard at 303 Second Street.  Due to several factors, not the least of which included several individuals standing in the yard at the residence, the officer’s portable radio not being able to transmit from Crossville, and no other officers in the immediate area, the officer secured the 4 wheeler and asked for additional warrants to be issued.  That 4 wheeler, a 2007 Arctic Cat 400 was towed by Don’s Bumper to Bumper.  The Posey County warrants are for Driving While License Suspended with a Prior and Petition to Revoke Probation.  The officer indicates he would ask for warrants to be issued for Driving on a Suspended Driver’s License and Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer.
