A 36 year old Grayville man, Nicholas Lofton was sentenced in White County Court Wednesday to 4 years and 10 months in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a class 3 felony charge of Forgery, followed by 1 year of Mandatory Supervised Release, and 4 years and 10 months, followed by 1 year Mandatory Supervised Release on a class 4 felony charge of Criminal Damage to Government Property.

Lofton was on probation for the Forgery case from 2017 when he committed the new offense of Criminal Damage to Government Property in Grayville. This led to his probation being revoked with the new sentences being entered. His sentences will run concurrently with a case out of Edwards County. Grayville Police Department was the investigating agency in both cases. Public Defender Brian Shinkle represented Lofton. Judge T. Scott Webb was the presiding judge.
