Today is the day that fall sports get underway at Carmi-White County High School. The CWCHS Football, Volleyball, Golf, Cross Country and Girls Tennis teams begin regular practices today in preparation for the 2022 season. The Bulldog Football team will have 3 full weeks to prepare for their week 1 opponent, the Hamilton County Foxes. Kurt Simon’s crew is coming off of a 6-4 campaign, which saw them reach the postseason for the first time since 2017. The Lady Bulldog Volleyball team coached by Chris Lucas, is coming off a historic season. With 23 wins and the first regional championship in 44 years. They will begin their season on August 22nd in Mt. Carmel. Trey Mason and the Carmi-White County Golf team begin their season much sooner than the other fall sports teams and they tee things off this Thursday, August 11th at the Mt. Carmel Invitational. Head Coach Chris Courty and the Girls Tennis team will begin their season on August 20th at Hillsboro, they will play their first home match that following Monday, August 22nd. And Eric Dixon and the Bulldog Cross Country team will have quite some time to prepare for their first race. They begin their season on September 6th at the Hamilton County Invite. The Junior High Baseball and Softball teams begin play this week. They will travel to Mt. Vernon, IL on Thursday, and then will play at home against Harrisburg on Friday. The softball team will then take part in the Marion invitational tournament on Saturday.
