Back on Friday the Carmi-White County Bulldogs defeated the Fairfield Mules on Homecoming by a final score of 38-12. It was a rough first half for the Bulldogs who trailed at intermission 12 to 8. But a dominant third-quarter from both the offense and the defense helped the Bulldogs outscore the Mules 30-0 in the 2nd half and lead them to their first win over Fairfield since 2012. Isaac King rushed for 235 yards with a touchdown, and Draxtyn Aud rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns. Warren Legg also ran in two touchdowns of his own. The Bulldogs are 5-0 for the first time since 2011 and they look to improve to 6-0 this Friday when they travel to Edwards County to face the winless Lions. Fans that can’t attend the game will be able to listen to it live on 97.3 WRUL but we will not provide a YouTube video stream for the game due to the lack of room inside the Edwards County press box.
Back on Saturday the Carmi Jr Pro football teams hosted Hamilton County. The 5th and 6th grade Bulldogs fell by a final of 26-22, while the 7th and 8th graders were defeated 38-14.
