Local Sports Recap – October 31, 2023

The Carmi-White County Lady Bulldog Volleyball team took down Massac County in 2 sets last night 25-7, 25-20 in the Pinckneyville Sectional semifinals. It marks just the 2nd time in CWCHS history that the Lady Bulldogs have won a sectional match. Carmi advances to play Fairfield in the sectional championship tomorrow night. It will be the 3rd match between the two teams this season, Fairfield took the first matchup in 3 sets and the second matchup in 2 sets. Fans who can’t attend tomorrow night’s match will be able to watch on the WRUL Sports YouTube Channel. First serve is set for 6 pm. 

In other high school volleyball action last night, NCOE defeated Carrier-Mills in 2 sets and Trico took down Goreville in 3 sets at the Crab Orchard 1A Sectional. NCOE and Trico will battle tomorrow night for the sectional championship.

In 1A,
Sesser-Valier will host Salt Fork and Casey-Westfield will travel to Greenfield.

In 2A,
Red Bud will travel to Athens.
Johnston City will travel to Breese Mater Dei.
Vandalia will host Shelbyville.
Nashville will travel to Quincy Notre Dame.

In 3A,
DuQuoin will travel to Tolono-Unity.
Mount Carmel will host Sullivan-Okaw Valley.

In 4A,
Harrisburg will host Peoria Notre Dame
Murphysboro will host Charleston.

In Indiana High School Football Sectional Championships this Friday;

In 5A,
Evansville North will travel to Castle.

In 4A,
Memorial will host Reitz.

In 3A,
Gibson Southern will host Vincennes-Lincoln
Heritage Hills will host Scottsburg.

In 2A,
North Posey will travel to Paoli.

    How do they make something legal but find ways around to arrest you and charge you for it. I wonder if that falls under the safety act? GO PRITZKER
